Sallent de Gallego is a village situated at the head of the Tena Valley at about 1.300 meters above sea level, with a population of around a 1.000 inhabitance who are dedicated mainly with farming and tourism.  It´s  the Municipal area with the largest number of mountain peaks reaching over 3.000 meters in hight.  The village being the starting point for the majority of the mountain climbing done in the area.  The municipal limits reach to the french boarder and the Pryenees National Park.
